Background
Lone Wolf Software, Inc. is a privately held corporation formed in 1995. It
specializes in shrink-wrapped, time-and-attendance packages designed to be marketed
through retail outlets, the product is called TimeWolf.
The company evolved from a sole proprietorship that developed custom business and medical
office management application-software. It is the only company currently offering
time-and-attendance software in retail outlets. The company released its first
time-and-attendance package with speaker verification in 1998. Lone Wolf has eleven
employees, most of whom are technical and programming professionals.
Markets & Distribution
Lone Wolf Software, Inc. markets its stand alone time-and-attendance software through
retail outlets, such as CompUSA, Frys Electronics, Micro
Center, and Staples. Network versions of TimeWolf, called TimeWolf Pack,
are marketed through resellers and VARs, who purchase through distributors, Ingram Micro,
Tech Data, and Micro Central, and sell to end users. First released in the Fall of 1997,
the TimeWolf, Employee Timeclock series version 2.0, which features Voice Verification was
released in the fourth quarter of 1998.
Products & Services
The TimeWolf Employee Timeclock Series securely
tracks employee work hours using the PC and the Voice Verification technology. The systems
collect work time data in "Real Time," providing reports and graphs displaying
regular work hours, overtime, holidays, vacation and sick time. First of the series, Time Wolf, is a
single-machine implementation running on a PC under Windows 98/NT/2000/XP capable of processing
one verification at a time, via the keyboard and voice verification. Time Wolf Plus combines
a bar code scanner with software for collecting work hours using an assigned employee card
and voice verification. TimeWolf Pack
is designed for implementation on a LAN and can handle multiple, simultaneous
verifications and enrollments from workstations on the network. TimeWolf Pack can also
handle one or more bar code scanners connected to workstations on the LAN. Regardless of
how work time data is collected, keyboard or scanner, all data is stored in a shared
location so that reports and graphs will contain all records regardless of where or how
they were collected. Other features of the series include, scheduling, accruals, native
accounting and payroll service interfaces, and an electronic In/Out board.
